Innovative projects within Visual Sweden

Collaborative projects aimed at developing new products and services are one of the core operations within the innovation initiative Visual Sweden. Of particular interest are collaborations that break new ground with the application of new solutions based on research, or collaborations in completely new constellations.

Visual Sweden contribution:

Visual Sweden is happy to help you find the right partners and approach to strengthen your project. Visual Sweden’s well-established brand and experience in the innovation sector can also help you develop the application and seek joint funds in calls for proposals. In some cases, innovation grants from Visual Sweden can be applied. Visual Sweden always works with regard to challenges (Agenda 2030), opportunities (technology-driven) and needs (unique problems). During the course of the project, Visual Sweden supports you and markets the project for the greatest possible outreach. It can be regarding press releases, news or events in the form of seminars.

Types of projects:

Verification projects

Verification of technology or market for the purpose of developing products/services. Each project can be awarded a maximum of SEK 100,000. Project duration: 3-12 months. Project financing requires at least 50% co-financing. Collaborations between research groups, research institutes, companies and owners of needs are encouraged. Researchers can have different roles, e.g. contribute capacity in specific issues, state-of-the-art knowledge, adviser, etc.

Development projects

Product/service development. Funding for development projects is requested from national and international project financiers, with support and advice from Visual Sweden’s process management. At least one need owner/potential customer must participate as a project partner. Collaborations between research groups, research institutes, companies and owners of needs are encouraged. Researchers can have different roles, e.g. contribute capacity in specific issues, state-of-the-art knowledge, adviser, etc.

Platform projects

Platform projects aim to develop the research-based knowledge platform that can be shared by many participants in the region, and which leads to significant synergy effects for Visual Sweden’s operations. By platform, we intend on something that connects several ongoing projects within Visual Sweden’s area of expertise, and something that enables or makes it easier to start new projects. The projects must a) develop applied research, and b) create decisive benefits for (the region’s) need owners and/or companies. The projects can – but do not have to – generate new products or services. It can also take the form of ‘speculative’ applied research, where the knowledge that is built up has a long-term benefit for several stakeholders.
